Meet your local host

Connoisseur of Namibia's grand horizons, based in Windhoek

Namibia is not a country you visit in a hurry. Here, distances, silence and light are an integral part of the journey.

Delphin

From Namibia, Delphin knows his country in all its vastness, rawness and sometimes unexpected ways. He loves introducing a destination where distances, light and landscapes profoundly change one's relationship with travel. From the dunes of the Namib to the tracks of Damaraland, from the wild reserves of the north to remote villages, he builds itineraries designed to take time crossing the country and understanding it. His approach is based on balancing exploration, comfort and immersion in nature. Delphin places great importance on the pace of travel, well-chosen stops and that sense of freedom that Namibia offers almost immediately. He particularly enjoys sharing the atmospheres of the desert, starlit nights, long silent roads and the stories of Namibian territory, shaped by its peoples and vast spaces.

Everything you need to know about Namibia

Our local experts share their knowledge to prepare your trip.

When to visit Namibia?

The best time for a trip to Namibia stretches from May to October, during the dry season. The days are bright, the nights cool in the desert, and wildlife concentrates around Etosha's water points, making safaris particularly rewarding. July and August remain the most sought-after months: book early. For those who prefer greener landscapes and spectacular skies, the period from November to March brings rainfall, sometimes short but intense, especially in the North. Photography enthusiasts love these changing lights on the dunes of Sossusvlei. As for May and September, they offer an excellent balance between visitor numbers, temperatures and wildlife observation.

What budget should you plan for a trip to Namibia?

Namibia is not a budget destination, and this is linked to its geographical reality: vast distances, isolated lodges, national parks, and 4x4 vehicles essential on certain tracks. For a two-week self-drive circuit, expect an average of €3,000 to €4,500 per person excluding flights, with nights in charming lodges and a few camps nestled in the bush. More exclusive trips, fly-in safaris between the Skeleton Coast, Damaraland, and Kaokoland, easily exceed €6,000. Conversely, an itinerary mixing guesthouses and affordable camps can come down to around €2,200. Fuel, park permits, and local guides also weigh on the final cost.

Why organize your trip with a local agency in Namibia?

Planning a trip to Namibia from Europe quickly raises very practical questions: what type of 4x4 for the C39, should we stay in Sesriem or further afield, how to manage distances between Twyfelfontein and Etosha without turning the journey into a rally. Our team lives in Windhoek, travels the country year-round and knows the lodges one by one, their guides, their tables, their little quirks. By working with an English-speaking local agency, you gain refined itineraries, on-the-ground responsiveness and safety, especially in remote areas of the Kaokoland. And above all, you support a local economy that directly depends on guides, trackers and conservancy communities.

What to see on a trip to Namibia?

A first trip to Namibia almost inevitably leads to the ochre dunes of Sossusvlei, Sesriem Canyon, then continues northward to the Naukluft plateau and the lunar landscapes of Damaraland, where a few black rhinoceros and desert elephants still roam. Etosha National Park, with its vast white pan, remains one of southern Africa's finest wildlife viewing destinations without the crowds. Further northwest, the Kaokoland appeals to experienced travelers: demanding tracks, Himba villages, and an almost surreal silence. On the Atlantic side, Swakopmund and the Skeleton Coast offer fog, shipwrecks, and seal colonies. For those with time, the Caprivi, with its rivers and lush vegetation, surprises in a country often imagined as purely mineral.
